........yes. And I used to greatly enjoy the Puff Daddy version, too.
Oh, it gets worse: I actually didn’t think the 1998 Godzilla was that bad when I first saw it in theaters. (Years later I saw it on DVD and it was completely fucking godawful, of course.)
I also liked the Godzilla soundtrack version of Green Day’s “Brain Stew.” Green Day were one of the first bands I downloaded songs by. I started with “Geek Stink Breath,” a song I still like.
I was downloading these files from silly little Angelfire/Geocities (GEOSHITTIES!!!!) sites that had them up for download. And that was because what I was actually looking for was mp3s of video game music, mostly Castlevania and Final Fantasy related. But some had rock songs and I tried them.
The first thing I downloaded on Napster was U2’s “Sunday Bloody Sunday.” This would have been at the beginning of 2000. I think.
The song I had to offer other people to download was “Rhythm Of Life” by the Flower Kings, a 30-second long track of a ping pong ball batting back and forth and some lady muttering “rhythm of life!” that opens their 1996 album Retropolis.
