That perspective on Lake Mungo is something I did admittedly encounter reading the used-to-be-IMDb board for the movie (it’s been moved over to moviechat.org.) “It’s NOT a horror movie, you’re all reading it wrong!”

The big “jump scare” in the movie is a person encountering a dead image of themselves on a phone, IIRC. It was pretty underwhelming.
