Like Bush’s second term, Trump is burning through political capital like a drunken sailor (last cliché for this post). Especially with the tariffs going into effect today, he will be very unpopular very soon. What he’s done has mostly been on his own. He hasn’t had to work with Congress and when he does, he’ll be a political liability. Dubya was toothless after Harriet Miers and the failed Social Security reform. I’m hopeful.
