I know you’re into shoegaze more heavily than me (and I am a lot more than Trung seems to be). Have you heard the Telescopes? A mostly forgotten band from that era that only released two albums and a bunch of EPs. You can skip the debut Taste as it’s Stooges/Sonic Youth influenced noise, bracing in small doses, intolerable at full album length. OK for what it is. The self-titled LP sounds like a totally different band - it’s mostly heavenly-pop showing more of a Cocteau Twins than SY influence. If you liked Isn’t Anything it’s similar. You can go for that first or just grab Splashdown: The Complete Creation Recordings (does not include the debut from 1989), the first disc of which collects the EPs prior to the 1992 LP. Probably my favorite song of theirs so far (do not mistake with the flipside “Celestial” which pads out its 9 minutes with 5 minutes of whale songs - literally).
On edit: Actually, I see they reformed a decade later and released some more albums in the 21st century, but I’ve not heard those and it’s not of great urgency for me.
