I’m sorry, I’ve got a bit of a bone to pick with your ratings when your cutoff for a notable album is a 37.5% score and If You’re Feeling Sinister doesn’t make the cut. I liked it in high school because it was a great fucking pop album, regardless of any reservations you get in later years. It’s like calling the first Weezer album shit. (My reservation with Belle and Sebastian is that Ian Stuart Murdoch or whatever the guy’s name is is a pussy.)

I’ve always loved the second Stone Roses album but I understand I’m all but alone in this. I associate it in my head with Stupid Stupid Stupid by Black Grape, another underrated “other album” of a ’90s two-album act.

I adore the Cramps’ cover of “Tear It Up” and keep meaning to hear the original but haven’t gotten around to it. I’ll post that for when I come back to this post, along with a glorious, glorious live Cramps version:
