I don’t know if When A Stranger Calls will ever get a real Criterion release, but it certainly has potential for an interesting commentary. Or maybe there is one on an existing release, I haven’t checked, tbh.
I understand that they needed to invent something to get 3 acts out of it, but if they wanted to do the 2nd act from the villain’s perspective, shouldn’t it have been him escaping from the insane asylum, or something like that?
