I said something about Loveless would be better if performed by U2 or Coldplay and singled out When You Sleep.
Ken accepted the idea that U2 at their peak could do a reasonable cover but was quite offended with the idea of Coldplay doing a good cover. Similar to U2, Coldplay La Vida La Vida album contains the song Chinese Sleep Chant which is essentially their attempt of shoegazing.

In any case there are bands that are influence by shoegazing ie U2, Smashing Pumpkins. However they don’t go the same extreme as Loveless in terms of complete lack of clarity over the vocals and murkiness
