1Q84? seriously?

I don’t hate Murakami but that was the dullest thing of his I’ve read and it barely qualifies as sci-fi anyway. (I also wouldn’t put 1984 on this list.)
I read The Echo Wife a couple years ago at my ex’s recommendation, it’s pretty entertaining read though idk if it’s a modern classic. The Body Scout is a lot of fun as well - it cracked me up when I realized that he’d used one of the Japanese Fighting Baseball names (Mike Truk) for a character mentioned in passing.
I didn’t think anyone put Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep as their favorite Dick novel but I get why it’s there.
