The music was great, but as far as 90s Gen X legends go, where’s the drama? They had their interpersonal conflicts like all bands do, but nothing I’ve read about Pavement makes their story particularly compelling. Oasis weren’t nearly as good a band but their inevitable biopic is going to be one helluva story, just to name another band from the same era. GBV might be interesting with all the constant lineup changes. Or the Pixies with the Black/Deal sexual tension dynamic (yes they were an item, broke up, which may have contributed to Kim’s exit to Breeders).
