I honestly sort of hope that the Nirvana biopic never happens. Sort of like how I hope Catcher In The Rye never gets made into a movie (that On The Road adaptation about 10 years ago certainly didn’t stir up a lot of attention!)

An Alice In Chains biopic would be too depressing. Just sitting around waiting for Layne Staley to eat it from heroin. Ditto Blind Melon.

If they were to make Pavement into a movie I’d certainly like to see who gets to play Gary Young doing godawful onstage antics, or have someone play Nigel Godrich circa 1999 so we can get a re-enactment of the scene where Bob Nastanovich finds out that Godrich didn’t know his name several weeks into the Terror Twilight sessions.

Face it–if they’re not going to do U2 (and nobody cared about Killing Bono, anyway) then perhaps the rock biopic is mercifully (and hopefully) done for.
