I actually owned TMNT3 but barely played it (I had a lot of NES games because it was my only console until 1996, and even then there weren’t a lot of N64 games and I didn’t have a Super Nintendo until middle school (1997-2000). I don’t remember exactly when.

The thing is, at that time I almost exclusively played with Game Genie because I didn’t have the time I was used to (not to mention it made games easier). Now I just play with rewind and save states (and the Avernum character editor, although I’m stuck at my current levels because I’ve maxed out all the traits and the level-up screen wants me to increase one or else it won’t go through. Maybe I can take away a trait.)

Also Game Genie puts stress on the pins inside the NES so after a while the console won’t work without it being in.
