but most people seemed to think it was gimmicky bullshit, and it confused more casual fans as to which were the “real” albums and which were the side projects. So even though it was a great period of creativity from them it ultimately diluted the bands “brand” in a way. The Terror was a great album, but garbage like the Miley Dead Petz album, or all the novelty covers albums (they did at least 4 or 5 of them), or the 6 & 24 hour song thing which most pepole would never listen to (the edited 7 Skies H3 album version is great though), or them doing a million collabs with different artists, is what actually got them attention. So once they stopped all the gimmickry and started making normal records again people kind of didn’t care anymore.
