but God knows what a physical copy of Zaireeka would even run me nowadays. $200?

I got the impression that the Lips were here to stay because they put out two really wonderful, dark albums in 2009 and 2013, and were still managing to get attention for both weird projects (6 hour song, 24 hour song, their personal re-recording of DSOTM, weird gummy fetuses) and dumb publicity stunts (firing Kliph Scurlock, doing drugs and taking nude selfies with Miley Cyrus.) Did that die off because of Oczy Mlody which had one glorious song on it (“How?”) or what? American Head wasn’t anything terribly special either and I lost track after that. I would agree that it does seem like they’re really starting to die down, which had me thinking what it would be like to hop into a time machine and go back to 1983 or whenever and tell them that The Flaming Lips would still exist forty years later. Didn’t Wayne work at a McDonalds until Priest Driven Ambulance came out? And hell, isn’t he past 60 now?
