I’m excited to play FFV and FFVI at some point! I’ve only played VII but it was incredible. I expect I and II to be ancient enough that they won’t play too well though, now.

Did you ever play Earthbound or Mother 3? Mother 1 is notoriously unbalanced like you’re saying, so I haven’t gotten far in it yet (although I plan to play it through sometime soon) but the other two games are all-time favorites for me- and I only played through them like this year.
