A hilarious thing about the revival seasons - they bring back the smoking man, despite you literally seeing his skeleton consumed by fire. I’ve only seen a few of those episodes - “Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster” is a lot of fun, there’s a couple decent semi-MOTW episodes, and there’s a cool almost dialogue-free episode about automation that’s not much of an X-File but is very enjoyable.

I like a decent amount of seasons 6, though it gets too goofy, season 7 is weaker but has its moments. I love the giant mushroom episode, I think “X-Cops” is pretty great. The one I come back to in Season 8 is “Via Negativa,” where Doggett is getting stalked in his dreams by the third eye dude. A lot of that season just feels unfocused, and they don’t know what to do with Mulder once he’s back, but that one’s very effectively dark and creepy. Still haven’t seen much of Season 9, I remember watching the opener when it aired and having zero memory of what had happened once it was over.

I still love Jose Chung - the Millenium episode with him is excellent as well. I just think it’s very effective in telling a really sad story in a very funny way. Not super into the Cher episode, in general this show gets way too cavalier about sexual assault. “First Person Shooter” is probably their most embarrassing episode. “Space” is boring but so are most of the first season’s vengeful ghost episodes. I don’t really care too much about the mytharc, once the bees show up I give up on trying to follow it, though one of the bee-related episode does have a great moment where Mulder pours gasoline over his head.

Thing that annoys me - they shouldn’t have revealed Krycek being a conspiracy agent in his first episode, they could have waited until he knocks out the dude at the ski lift after Scully gets abducted, would have been a great moment!
