I also watched it sometime last year for the first time in many years. Roger Rabbit had a lot of cool references to old noir films too which makes it still novel today. Also it was kind of violent and disturbing for a kids movie, but a lot of 80s movies that kids watched back then were a lot darker than anything nowadays.
Id say it does a nice job holding up and being entertaining and not too cringily dated as much as it could have been.
