I watched Roger Rabbit a few years ago for the first time in something like 30 years, and I still thought it was pretty good. I liked Forrest Gump when it was new, but it might be cringey now.

BTTF is mentioned all the time in discussions of how the Boomers sold out to consumerism, with all the product placement in the film coming from two children of the 60s like Zemeckis and Spielberg.

Last time I saw E.T., another one I hadn’t watched in decades, I thought that there was alot of exceptionally shameless product placement, and a general fetishization of toys. It feels more like a fantasy about a toy coming to life than anything else.
