Harris ran a really feeble campaign, but it’s hard for me to imagine how the kind of person who would be Googling on election day to figure out what happened to the Democratic ticket missed Biden stepping down in the first place. I’d think that someone who votes but still managed to miss that information would be an elderly shut-in who lives in Trump country and has their grandkids pick them up and take them to vote.
Also, I know that the ballots/voting machines look different in different states, but I’d expect that if you’re that oblivious then you probably vote a straight ticket, in which case you don’t have to look at the candidates’ names.
Really, I’m just saying that this is confusing to me no matter how weak her messaging was.
