Really? I thought you’d talked about some of his other movies. I guess not.
I don’t know his career well, but looking at the Wikipedia articles on his early films, he started out making other stuff.

The first two movies in his “Gates of Hell Trilogy” are better than House by the Cemetery. The Beyond is the best loved, I think that City of the Living Dead has the most memorably disgusting scene.

The other movie of his that I’ve seen, besides those three and Zombie, is Four of the Apocalypse, which is his take on Stagecoach. I didn’t love it, but I though it was enough of an oddity to be worth a look. I haven’t seen it in forever, but I have it in a box set of spaghetti westerns, so I should watch it again. The soundtrack is laughably bad, I remember that.
