Yep, that is Big Fat Mid Eighties Production alright, just like you’d expect. I can think of worse examples, though. It’s better produced than CSN’s Live It Up, but that had better songs as far as I can tell. He’s going for rootsy-bluesy choruses and soloing over fat 80s funk dance beats. The drum sound is pretty predictably terrible. Probably the critics easily had their knives out for this one (I can’t easily name a “dinosaur act goes 80s” album that I know was highly well-received while the 80s were going.)

I still don’t understand that cover art, though. Hell, his name’s not even on it.
