but it’s probably because of the spice. I know that Coca Cola already made a raspberry-flavored Coke, it was called “California Raspberry” and came in tall glass bottles, along with a “Georgia Peach” coke it was right next to. I never recall thinking much of that raspberry Coke, but I do like this one a lot, the spice adds bite to it. Hopefully this Coke will last, and they’ll try further experiments with spicy cola (Mr. Pibb is already called “Spicy Cherry Soda” on the label despite it obviously being a Dr Pepper ripoff, as you may know.)

Purple Thunder Mountain Dew sucks. Just another generic, indistinguishable fruit flavor. I know it’s Mountain Dew and that there’s no “healthy” soda anyway, but 152% of your daily allowed sugar in one bottle is a bit embarrassing too, that’s what the label says. If you put it in a blind taste test with the “Purple Passionfruit” Dew and the purple “Fruit Punch” Game Fuel, both from the last couple of years, I bet I wouldn’t be able to tell them apart. A shame, I like purple things.

Well, I guess Christopher Nolan got his Oscar. Fair enough, I’m not wild about Birdman but I certainly wouldn’t have wanted him to win for Interstellar 10 (!!) (I know, but…!!) years ago. Robert Downey Jr. gave a funny speech when he won. Having other actors up on stage pouring praise on nominees before they win was pretty damned embarrassing and makes me glad I have no plans to ever watch a full Oscarcast.

NP: John Fogerty - “Vanz Kant Danz”: Catchy tune and funny lyrics bashing Saul Zaentz, but God that 1985 production really does it no favors. Crappy keyboards left over from a Jules Shear album and little kiddie gated drums. Great tune anyway, but could someone remix it? This is a predictable complaint and a predictable post for me, but…bleurgh?
I know Fogerty put out an album in 1986 called Eye Of The Zombie that was a terrible flop that got horrible reviews, too, does it have even worse problems than this? It has a creepy cover for some reason with no title, but a painting of a menacing animal face. Why?
