“Sun King” sounds a lot like Fleetwood Mac’s “Albatross” from Then Play On which I’m pretty sure was the same year as Abbey Road and may have come first. I wonder if SK’s underrated status is due to the similarity? Who knows. The dreamy guitars in SK are really beautiful even if the vocal hook is generic. I noticed that there is Spanish singing similar to “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes” from the same year, too.

I’ve noticed that jokes about how old Steve Howe looks have been replaced by how old Phil Collins looks, which is a little like years and years of people making fun of the Boston accent has been “replaced” by a current, not very successful attempt to make fun of the Pittsburgh accent instead (“yinz guys wanna meet my durdur?”) This joke doesn’t seem to be taking off very well. I predict Pittsburgh accent jokes will die off very soon.

I’ve lived in Manhattan since 2001 but my “hometown“‘s name has nothing to do with Batman–I’m from Beattie. At least it knows that I have OCD, though if the first thing AI can discern about me is that I used to listen to Dream Theater (it doesn’t know that I’ve long since grown sick of Jordan Rudess, who was really only good on his first Dream Theater album back in 1999) that’s a real crying shame.

So ChatGPT can figure out that Musicman likes wine coolers and Night Moves but not Black & Mild? No pumpin and furious raw cookin’? Wait, no, the black & mild was in there. I misread. Dammit, AI really will kill us all won’t it.

I had a spicey chicken sandwich and a “butter burger” (double bacon cheeseburger with buttery-brushed bun) at Culver’s the other day, but after being lied to about the quality of their root beer on r/Soda (fuckers) I decided to get my drink to go with it at Five Guys instead, opting for peach vanilla Coke from the Freestyle machine, which is apparently the winner of some Internet contest to come up with popular new flavor mixes. It didn’t make much of a difference. The best Freestyle flavor remains the Cream Soda Coke which they should really bottle sometime. The burger tasted, curiously enough, like iHOP’s, which is actually a pretty underrated burger! The chicken sandwich was acceptable but Popeye’s is still best, Wendy’s is probably second best, Sonic’s was horrible and I will never try it ever again. Believe it or not, I now go to iHOP for the anytime tacos more than anything else these days, which are great as hell.

Little bottled sodas I tried from Hy-Vee:

Americana Honey Cream Soda - Decent enough. Lots of cream sodas have been disappointing to me, A&W is still best, how is THAT possible? Cream Soda seems better when combined with Pepsi, Coke or Dr. Pepper.
Sprecher Cream Soda - Drinkable but doesn’t do much to stand out. Probably will not be having it again.
Julmust Holiday Cola - VERY GOOD. SWEET KISSES AND LOVE. Holiday spices in cola, like something Pepsi tried once then discontinued. Well we have this.
Brownie Caramel Cream Root Beer - Sucked. SUCKED. “Caramel cream?” It tasted like Mug Root Beer with water in it. Kill, die, bleed!
Bedford’s Marionberry Creme - Well that is an unusual flavor. I guess this was okay.
Macfuddy Pepper Elixir - Psssht. Again, this is like Dr. Pepper with more water in it. I’d be better off trying one of those imitation store brand Dr. Peppers of which there is an online museum dedicated to them.
