I had to go to the DMV this morning. This DMV thankfully is better and less busy than the one I used to have to go to. Still took all morning to get a new ID that you need to get on an airplane or shit like that starting in May. Going to the DMV or Social Security office is a pain in the ass but anyone can see the problems with doing it online. I did have to bring my birth certificate, Social Security card, lease, and a tax document – yes, they require all four to get your Real ID, or at least two proofs of citizenship and two proofs of residency. I do wonder how many people actually have those documents readily at hand to take to the DMV. It seems that this policy would have the unintended consequence that the stupid, poor, and/or irresponsible are effectively barred from flying. You’d think the aerospace industry would have lobbied like hell against it.

I really hate to tell you this because it’s going to get you down, but quitting weed didn’t make my brain clearer or me smarter (I stopped in 2007 because I really couldn’t afford an arrest, and didn’t start again until it was decriminalized in 2020 then legalized in 2021). In fact, my most productive times mentally and vocationally have been when I was smoking. Before I started and after I quit, I was an unmotivated, mediocre mess. That’s one reason I never plan on quitting.

The only thing that cured my general apathy was smoking weed. Haven’t you noticed my brain in 2014-2019 was markedly duller than in thr years since? Monosyllables and I couldn’t put two sentences together. But this could be a dry-drunk thing.
