The Smile records are decent

They basically sound like Thom and Jonny doing a whole project in the style of A Moon Shaped Pool. So lots of krautrocky stuff with odd angular guitar riffs, mixed in with orchestral Jonny stuff and Thom piano balladry.

First album has good songs but is sequenced weirdly for a Thom project, quite long and mostly sounds like a bunch of tracks they had lying around thrown together. The second one is shorter and has much more of that Radioheady ‘flow’.

They’re both decent but they’re very sort of… cold and distant. Almost no emotion in them at all!

Rumour has it they’re already working on a third album so I don’t see a Radiohead reunion on the cards any time soon, if ever.
