went to see The Dragon Lives Again last night, the movie in which “Bruce Lee” (Bruce Leung) dies, goes to the underworld, and fights James Bond, Clint Eastwood, Dracula, Emmanuelle, “The Exorcist,” the Godfather, a bunch of mummies, etc. His allies include Popeye the Sailor. Bruce Lee’s dick plays a surprisingly large role, it helps kill Dracula. The movie seems weirdly focused on Bruce’s promiscuity while alive, in this he’s reformed and resists Emmanuelle’s advances, though we do get a very long, pretty graphic, and truly non-erotic sex scene in which she tries to fuck the King of the Underworld to death. anyway, pretty incredible/dumb as shit, go see it. There’s also a Brucesploitation documentary and box set coming out.

just finished reading Ex-Wife, by Ursula Parrott, published anonymously in 1929, narrated by a woman separated from her asshole ex-husband after he can’t deal with her infidelity, not that he’s been faithful himself. interesting account of divorced life in New York in the 1920s, not too far from Mad Men, or the modern day for that matter - at one point one of her suitors admits to trying to neg her at the insistence of a friend who’s been mocking him for his lack of game. gets pretty melodramatic by the end but in a sort of half-ironic, self-aware way. i liked it!
