Just as I wasn’t sure that there really was any guitar-based rock-related “movement” going on right now, I have no idea what if any big trends in indie-rock are. Of course Pitchfork is going bye bye anyway, but still.

I’m doing Fear Of Music right now and I’m not sure if it’s better than MSABAF or not. It hits more highs, but MSABAF may be more consistent. I can’t believe I forgot “Drugs,” though, that’s a really cool song. Of course Remain In Light is a big fat five star for me, but going from it to their other albums is weird somehow.

There’s also the matter of that big 2-disc live album they put out that was finally reissued after so many years, and all the WRC reviewers gave it the highest rating on their Talking Heads pages in a weird display of solidarity. I was never able to be blown away by Absent Lovers (“Sleepless” aside) so that one will have to maybe wait awhile.

I’m sure there’s other good stuff in the of Montreal discography, but I don’t like how Barnes puts out an album a year, so doing the rest of their stuff probably won’t be a priority for a few years. If I’m finishing any Elephant 6 band’s discography in the near future the clear frontrunner is Apples In Stereo, as they’re the one I liked the best.
