Someone took a hole punch and punched a bunch of little cardboard hearts through the liner notes of the used Speaking In Tongues CD I bought back around 2006; in spite of this, I know the chorus to “Swamp” is actually “hi, hi hi hi hi hi.”
The songs you named are actually on the same Apples In Stereo album I was talking about ( Tone Soul Evolution ) but they are good songs! Of all super-cutesy bands Apples In Stereo are probably the one I have the most tolerance for, albeit with Sufjan’s Illinois being the high point of that kind of music (other Sufjan albums haven’t been as good, IMO.) I also like Fun Trick Noisemaker and Her Wallpaper Reverie, but those have already been relistened to.
There will probably be no more Apples in Stereo albums as the leader left to be a mathematician.
