I like the sound of More Songs About Buildings And Food and it may be one of the first albums i am more likely to put on nowadays when i want to hear the Heads. It has a cool funky new wave sound although you are right that a handful of songs sound pretty similar. I always remember Found A Job though because Byrne sounds hilarious on it and its really catchy - DAMN that Television!. Could be from hearing it a bunch of times over some years though. Overall I think Fear Of Music is my favorite. Honestly i think Remain In Light isn’t as strong in the second half but it is still really good stuff of course.

I dislike a lot of Pitchfork approved cutesy indie shit from the 00s too (but i dont care for a lot of newer “indie” stuff either that sounds like everyone trying to imitate 80s dream or art pop) but I think Of Montreal are great and have a lot of varied kind of albums and they shouldn’t be pigeonholed in that kind of scene necessarily. I know you may not care for those ‘funky’ type albums Kevin did in the late 00s but i would like to see what you think of some of them, like Gay Parade or Hissing Fauna at least, their more beloved albums. But yeah Satanic is really good, also Aldhils Arboretum (the album that came out before it) which i think is also underrated and full of hooks with songs like Jennifer Louise.
