It did sound electronic to me too. It is pretty pecular sounding for the time.
Yeah the original mix of Crusin With Ruben does sound very muddy. I heard the rerecorded one first and tend to prefer it, although if you compare the two some songs sound very hokey and cheesy. No No No sounds really weird and cheesy on the rerecorded version but its a really damn catchy song. I always liked the album (both versions) quite a bit but much of it is silly.. That Ray Collins had a lovely voice though.
