When I was a kid people were still familiar with that and it was an accepted kids’ song. I suppose that the “Tar Baby” character was still accepted back in the 80s, though? Was it? Is it possible to like the song if you have no idea it came from an embarrassing movie that a giant entertainment conglomerate desperately has to cover up? At this point Disney have had to dodge so many charges of racism that I kind of feel sorry for them.
