I think I’m going to make it through the early 80s with Zappa and maybe stop there. Messes like Lumpy Gravy and Weasels Ripped My Flesh are tiresome enough, I don’t want to listen to entire albums of guitar solos. I was alarmed at how little I liked Absolutely Free, too. I’d really hate to go through 25-40 albums and end up still only really liking four of them (Freak Out, We’re Only In It For The Money, Burnt Weeny Sandwich, You Are What You Is)

I had to go relisten to “Paper Planes.” Okay, yeah, that’s “Straight To Hell” alright. I didn’t know that–I’ve had “Paper Planes” mixed up with a completely different song for a long time, then. Oops. That’s what I get for not paying attention to Pitchfork or the charts.

As for Gorillaz, that’s Damon alright, but I only really remember “Feel Good Inc” and “Clint Eastwood.” The videos were cute. Blur remain known in this country only for “Song 2,” I think. And hell, how often d’you hear “Song 2”?
