I know Watermelon is on the guitar albums without the central scrutinizer talking over it, so thats a win. I generally enjoy instrumental albums that just let you sit in a mood for the entire duration instead of rapidly shifting all over the place, and the solos are often the best parts of Zappas other albums. So I probably owe it to myself to give them a spin.
I’ve never seen anyone shitting on them, I just dont think they give critics much to say beyond “guitar man play real good” whereas every other zappa album has a lot more to dissect.
