I saw William Basinski live two years back expecting a really serious British artist a-la Brian Eno- just because that seems like the type of person who would come up with the disintegration loop concept- and was very surprised to find instead that Basinski’s basically a loud-and-proud southern queen. He was like, ripping his shirt off and making all sorts of flowery outfit changes while playing a disintegration loop live on a tape machine. It was awesome, ngl. Will try to dig up a video or pic if I can find one
