Hilariously I see that he reissued This Year’s Model again in 2021, and this time added “Big Tears” to the first-disc tracklisting. This from a guy who once pondered taking his early albums out of print because “surely anybody who wanted them has them”? What a persnickety dude he is. Has he left Diana Krall for another woman yet?

To talk about his actual music, I started with Imperial Bedroom which is a good album but also a mistake to start with (it also has a mostly-weak final third, and some of the bonus tracks like “Seconds Of Pleasure” are clearly better than what made it onto the album.) You really don’t care for My Aim Is True then? I thought it was agreed that’s one of his easiest to like.
