youtubers do that thumbnail format because it causes the algorithm to recommend the video to more people so they can reach a wider audience and make more money. its dumb, but if youtube is your job you gotta play that game.

I think you’d enjoy his channel a lot, he’s like if those “VH1 I love the 90s/MTV countdown”-type shows were actually good with an genuine passionate guy putting thought into the series instead of MTV VJs and d-list comedians spewing bullshit. His “one hit wonderland” series is also excellent.

It is interesting to actually look over the top 10 of various years, some music has a lot of staying power and other songs dont at all.
