The PC Bedtime Stories book is from 1994, so there’s no way it was the first use of the term. It was a huge best seller though.
The one I remember the most is where Little Red Riding Hood is about to be eaten by the wolf, and the lumberjack bursts in to save her, and she bitches him out for trying to save her and calls him sexist and speciesist. It also spells “women” as “womyn,” a very short lived trend that I do remember.
Higher Learning is noteworthy because the 90s music and fashions have dated, but so many of the things people are fighting over in that movie are still with us!!! I’m surprised it isn’t a more discussed film today, but I think Singleton since his death has now been reduced to Boyz N THe Hood and 2 Fast 2 Furious, which will someday pass Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo as the most parodied film title ever if it hasn’t already!!!
