I don’t really think college was P.C. when I was there. That was the era of South Park humor, where alot of people, regardless of their actually beliefs, thought that almost nothing was offensive as long as it was intended as a joke. Not that anyone here needs to be reminded of that, since that’s what Music Babble was like for a long time. I get that the early ’00s were different than the ’80s. I think “politically correct,” as a phrase, is a ’90s thing, and that late 90s/early 2000s highschool/college humor had alot of backlash against it.
Maybe it’s just depends on the crowd, but I never see anyone mentioning Neal Stephenson’s first two novels or collaborations.
