I think there was a lot of PC and fights over PC when I was in college (2001-06) but it hadn’t spilled over like it apparently has today. So many people are increasingly jumping ship and adopting the obnoxious “college is a waste of time” attitude that it breaks my heart.

Neal’s 1988 book, Zodiac, a not-very-long half-comic college detective story about environmentalism, was the first thing I ever read by him…it wasn’t bad, and it’s nice to know he could write a likable bauble. I don’t think you see it mentioned too much though.

The first backlash I ever knew about regarding PC was the short satire book Politically Correct Bedtime Stories, which my mom had, but she laughed at it and she’s basically liberal.

Go watch the 1995 John Singleton movie Higher Learning and see how well it’s held up today.
