I’m not really bothered that the plot of Red Harvest has been recycled so many times–it’s a good enough premise that it ought to be (I’ve probably mentioned that I don’t really like the book anyway, but the central conceit of a completely corrupt town torn between two factions that a hero wanders into is at least a good one). Are there Japanese samurai movies that rip off The Dain Curse from the same year, where a rich family is haunted by ghosts?

My brother’s wife recently revealed to me that she didn’t really mind when boys would stare at her (large) breasts in high school but that if she’d caught a boy looking up her skirt she’d have either told on him or hurt him, and everyone at the dinner table concurred that looking up skirts is far creepier than staring at breasts. The whole rapper butt fetish thing does serve as a great counterpart to that, though.

The girls seem to be smiling a lot (and for a long time the video box cover was a picture of Crumb with the girl dressed like a schoolgirl.) I think it’s in the deleted scenes that the pornography publisher woman says that when she dated Robert he wanted to sit on her shoe a lot. Fffbbbttt.
