It’s great. My biggest issue with “coming of age” stories is that they usually hinge on big events - “the one summer that changed everything” type narratives. Boyhood, because of the duration experiment, shows how we carve out our identity over time out of a much larger familial/social context. I don’t really have much respect for people that find it dull.
The incel part of The Beast is based on this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_Isla_Vista_killings I mean, everything is some fake online bullshit until someone starts killing people IRL because of it.
I wish we could get Sam back on here, but I guess Mr. Married Living in Boston thinks he’s too good for us now.
