My Favorite Headache is pretty good. On par with the later era Rush albums. Lifeson is currently in a band called Envy of None and they are nothing special, I dont recommend them. His solo album from the 90s “Victor” is actually really good though I’d recommend it. Sounds only a little bit like Rush on some songs but otherwise is a pretty great grungy rock record with some really fun experimental left-turns.
I mean, Morse is a prog artist primarily influenced by Yes and Genesis, of course he makes lots of 20 minute epics. You’d expect anything less? He’s got a pretty good batting average at it tbh. He has a knack for a decent melody and the longer tracks are generally the best songs on his albums. I think he generally saves his more memorable ideas for them. He’s so damn prolific that he definitely does have plenty of duds but he’s probably contributed to more good epic tracks than just about any other single figure in prog music. The most annoying thing about him IMO is that he’s anti-streaming so almost none of his back catalog is avaliable on streaming services.
One day i’ll go back and finish the Swift discography reviews I wrote 70% of and then never went back and edited. then you’ll all see!
