when Looking Forward came out, the local classic rock station played the shit out of some song that wasn’t the rap song, and when I listened to that album decades later I couldn’t even remember/recognize which song it was. So that’s not a great endorsement. Regarding Neil having aged better than the other guys, that album is the blot on his ’90s catalogue, IMHO. I think he was as strong in the ’90s as he was in the ’70s. He was actually more consistent in the ’90s, but he also played it safer, which no equivalent of the “Ditch Trilogy,” and released fewer albums. He would not carry the same consistency in the 21st century.
